About Me

What I Do

I am a mostly self-taught designer and developer specializing in web and desktop applications. I am experienced in HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, Javascript(including jQuery and AngularJS), PHP, Wordpress, C#, and Visual Basic, as well as SQLite, MySQL, and MS SQL databases. I am naturally curious and always looking to learn more languages and technologies to make the software and websites I develop better.

How I Do It

I prefer to design websites and web apps using a mobile-first philosophy. I develop my sites to ensure that they are easy to use on cell phones. According to TechCrunch, as of 2016, website traffic has shifted to mobile, with over 51% of website views coming from mobile. I know I dislike when I visit a page on my phone and it doesn't work right. I refuse to allow visitors to my pages to feel the same.

My History

I developed my first program shortly after my family purchased our first computer when I was 11 years old. It was a simple text adventure, written in QBasic. In the mid-1990s, I began developing simple websites. Most of these were Geocities pages and other personal pages.

In 2006, I was asked to design a website for a ghost hunting group. I took the opportunity to learn PHP and increase my skill set. Since then, I have have also learned to utilize the power of Wordpress and Bootstrap to create more complex and stronger websites.
